I need to draw consistent muzzle shapes and stuff... So, I thought the Mane Six would be a good practice. I was also streaming the process to test the new software, and thanks to everyone who stopped by to chat with me
Overall this is a beautiful piece of art. I love the way that the expressions on each of the fillies' face matches their personality. ;3 One of the things I didn't like is that Rainbow Dash's hair is more realistic than the others. Also Pinkie's hair didn't seem as curly or fluffy as it should be. Other than that, I love it. :3 Man, I wish I didn't have to write at least 100 words. It's so tough to say enough stuff... so I'm probably going to say random stuff to pass the time! hehe! Anyways, like I said, I love the picture! :3 The muzzle work is amazing, same with the anatomy of the head. :3
This is quite a good piece of work to stare at for a long period of time. The style used on it adds a water effect on it, as if the paint is still fresh even after a long period of time has passed since the completion of the picture itself. I don't see problems about the manes, in fact I do believe they look quite good, Pinkie's mane reminds of the cotton candy they sell at amusement park, it's also nice to see Applejack without her trademark hat once ina while too. Overall, a true master piece to look at. Needless to say: this picture looks kinda simple, but it's that simplicity what makes it awesome!!!
As ever, Twi is the loveliest for me. That adorkable expression, makes me want to nuzzle her this instant. Lovely work on the hair in particular. Also, fine shading under their heads and on their faces to indicate the shadows and the precise shapes. The muzzle shapes are coming along; right now they're somewhere between the normal muzzles and a more human-ish face, which is actually not bad and sometimes acceptable. You're getting there. Well done!
Now excuse me while I go and nuzzle Twi, as promised.
In this picture, I feel Twi's and Rarity's muzzles look the most correct. Pinkie's looks off, even though it's similar to Twi's, but that might be just because of her expression. Fluttershy's, Dash's, and Applejack's muzzles all look too flat to me.
And just to clarify, in your other picture, I was referring to not only Lyra's design but also the drawing style. To me it seemed to work better, but that's just my opinion. That picture just completely blows me away.
