I was thinking on just that story when I saw the picture. I think this would be a good time to exchange the old picture on the story. This is more well done. The old picture was stopping me from trying to read it.
I don't like uncensored parts of the chapters, but I did not want to miss any information in the story. I sometimes hate my stubbornness.
But it was the first story of that kind that actually was not torture to read all the time, and my first story with Trixie for more then 3 paragraphs.
Wow, it looks really great! The pose is great, as well as Trixie overall. I very like her clothes - they are so natural. I just spotted that the different style is used here (I prefer this more realistic one, but this one fits the scene) and the hair are not so realistic as you normally draw, but it all looks very good. I see you did a very detailed background - it's marvelous (and really filling)! To sum up, this work looks fantastic! Although you made it using a bit different style, it's still amazing piece of art.
The only thing that really stands out to me is comparing the level of detail from the duster to Trixie's head/mane and Trixie's hooves don't look like they're touching the ground (either shadow or perspective with plane) but otherwise, in general, the artwork is really nice~
Yea figuring out how to balance details is quite tough.
It's a common issue even I'm not sure how to really fix, 1st - Making sure the shadows are a result of the whole hoof, what I mean is that the tip of her right-hind hoof isn't producing a shadow since the 'shadow' curves inward just before the hoof. 2nd - The current lighting seems to imply a more ambient-style lighting, so having very light soft shadows in all directions usually helps connect things.
(I'll need to try and test these adjustments myself later too to see if they help)
